First Steps for IBM Lotus Quickr

Learn the basics of Lotus Quickr by reading the FAQs.

What are "places" in Lotus Quickr?

Simply put, a place in Lotus Quickr is where teams go to share content. Places usually include one or more content libraries, so that you can easily store and share files and documents. In addition, to help you organize projects and work as a team, you get more collaboration tools, such as blogs, wikis, and lists for project tasks and team contacts.

Are places easy to create?

Yes. You create places from templates. Use templates that are provided by the Lotus Quickr community, or create and customize your own to meet the needs of your business.

How do I access places?

Go back to home to see the different places in your Web browser. The names of the different views should give you a hint of where to start, for example, Public Places.

In addition, after you download Lotus Quickr connectors, you can also access place content directly from the applications that you use everyday, such as Windows Explorer and IBM Lotus Notes.

Note that you might not need to contact the place owner to get access to a place.

Why do I only see a few places on the home page?

Make sure that you are logged in. After you log in, additional views display which might contain more places for you.

Now that you have learned something about places, click Create a Place to read how to create a place of your own.
